Just use a flat screwdriver and open the assembly up a little it will slide on. I just did mine the same way. And I don't think the honda controls will work with the 1" bars of the suzuki. As for the marader maybe. Check and see if an Intruder is a 2 piece I'm sure they have the 1" bars also, that is if your sure you want to go through the trouble of changing it when you really don't have to.
